Perinatal mood disorders

Writer's picture: Gabrielle PfefferGabrielle Pfeffer

At least. At least 1:10 are experiencing postpartum or prenatal depression. At least 1:10 are experiencing postpartum or prenatal anxiety. At least 1:10 are seriously struggling to bond, crying uncontrollably in the shower, dreading the approach of sunset, missing their old lives, feeling so far from themselves, experiencing rage, and wondering how they’re going to get through the next day.

You are not alone. You don’t have to struggle alone. Lean into your support system, ask for help, use your coping skills, schedule an appointment with a therapist, take care of you. Because parenting is the best reason you’ll ever have to take care of yourself.
